The stem of a tree is the strong, stable base that holds the tree up and builds on top of itself throughout the lifetime of the plant. It also acts as a major translational part, allowing for transport of vital elements between parts of the tree. This section reflects those same principles, representing the constantly growing base of technical knowledge that a scientist must maintain, drawing from both their roots and their specializations. Here, I showcase research projects in both wet and dry lab settings, as well as pieces that digest technical research papers into visually compelling mediums.
