For trees, leaves are the culmination of the growth from roots to the tips of the stem's branches and are highly specialized to perform the task of photosynthesis. While their lifespan is much shorter than that of the rest of the tree, their importance to the tree's overall life cannot be understated. Similarly, the pieces in this section represent the culmination of my career here at Stanford, and represent small, specialized products of research and classes where I was given the freedom to explore what I might want to do in the future.
